Timing Matters for Fall Invader Control

Preventive exterior treatment is most useful before or during the early fall migration, when boxelder bugs and Asian lady beetles begin clustering on sunny sides of buildings. Waiting until they are deep inside wall voids limits what an exterior treatment can reach.

If beetles are already indoors, vacuuming visible insects is usually preferable to crushing them. Boxelder bugs can stain fabrics and Asian lady beetles may release a yellow defensive fluid with a noticeable odor.
